What do YOU think of my pc build?
I’m a gamer. will be playing games like crysis, cod 4 etc.
Ram: Kingston (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 250GB SATA
Vid card: XFX 8800GT 512MB Alpha Dog XXX
CPU: E6750 (or maybe even E8400)
Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3L (recommend a cheaper p35 mobo?)
PSU: Cooler Master 500W eXtreme
CD/DVD drive: Pioneer 18X DVD+/- DVD burner
I have a monitor and an ATX case.
am i missing anything? and is this a good build? thanks
to the guy you said you should partition your drive: he makes it sound much more important then it is. if the drive is infected with a virus, you dont know if it infects the boot sector, a program, or a media file of some kind. if you suspect you have a virus, you’re gonna scan the whole system anyway. if you know its on the boot sector or something. ust tell the AV to scan boot sectors or whatever.
as for your system, it looks fine. if you’re going with vista, i might suggest you go for a 64bit edition of vista and bump up to 4 gigs of ram.
what resolution will you be gaming at? high res typically puts a bigger load on the video card while lower res means the CPU is stressed.
note: the 8400 isnt even out yet.
